Criminally Informed was created to provide Floridians with clear, accessible information about legislation passed under Donald Trump’s current term, particularly the laws and policies that directly impact our state. In a time when social media distorts facts and partisan division makes reliable reporting increasingly difficult to find, this blog was founded on one simple goal: to keep our community informed.
Here we break down complex policies, explain their real-world effects, and focus on what matters most to everyday people in Florida. Whether it’s criminal justice, education, immigration, or civil rights, Criminally Informed helps you understand what’s happening, why it matters, and what you could do about it.

I came up with the idea for Criminally Informed after witnessing how many of my close relatives and family members were overwhelmed and confused following the election of Donald Trump. Misinformation was everywhere, and the fear and uncertainty they felt about the future were very real. I had always wanted to create a blog, and this felt like the right time and the right purpose. I launched Criminally Informed to combine my passion for writing with a commitment to helping others stay informed, grounded, and empowered in the face of chaotic news cycles and political division.
Hi, my name is Samantha. I am a senior at “School for Advance Studies North”. I am majoring in political science on the pre-law track, and minoring in Journalism. I’m passionate about law and how it forms our society. This blog allows me to dive into real cases and legal topics to help others understand how the justice system affects everyday life.
